Important information

Indications

The SOL Emergency Bivvy is a full-protection shelter that reflects 90% of body heat for warmth in extreme temperatures.

Directions

A heat-reflective bivvy that can function by itself as a shelter from cold, wind and rain. However, you can still loose critical heat through conduction (the transfer of heat to colder surfaces around you). Thickly pad the area underneath your bivvy with as much dry debris as possible to add insulation between you and the cold ground. Find a safe spot for your shelter that is free from risk of falling trees or rocks, running water if is rains, high winds, or other natural hazards.

She broke her leg and this was a lifesaver!
5 Stars
She broke her leg and this was a lifesaver!
We were 4 miles up the mountain and 5 hours into the freezing rain hike when my co-leader broke her leg. We self-evacuated for as long as she could stand but then it was clear we needed to get her warmer, drier, and rested. Enter SOL Emergency Bivvy! I sent two hikers ahead to "set up camp" and by the time we got there they had a huge fire burning, the sleeping bag and insulated pad tucked in the bivvy and waiting for our hobbling leader. We got her inside the bivvy with her splint, the sleeping bag, pad, and the 3 coats we had on her. It was perfect, she was toasty in minutes. And even as the splint hiking pole tips were straining against the edges, it didn't rip. If anything we had to watch condensation buildup. Now every single hiker with us is buying one too. It's just too small to not have on you at all times. I'll add the video of the event later but I can't give a higher rating for any product. Only reason I have to buy another is the SAR team sliced her out to save time.

✔️ SURVIVAL' LISTES
5.0 out of 5 stars Sac de couchage d'urgence (1 place)
Reviewed in France on May 20, 2020

This is not S.O.L. original brand, it's a cheap fake. Poor quality and damaged, can see two finger prints with coating damaging.
Came not in original packing.
