OF INTEREST: The British Virgin Islands are largely a cruising ground for vacationing charterers, but behind all of the charter boats are some amazing islands with amazing history. The caves of Norman Island inspired Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island, and actual pirate treasure was found there. One of the best-preserved shipwrecks in the Caribbean is here, that of the RMS Rhone, sunk in a hurricane in 1867.
